September 15, 2007 Standing Cedars was part of a dedication by the Audubon Society of an Important Bird Area

The following pages of photographs were taken at that event. The weather was wonderful, approximately 20 people
joined to go out onto the prairie at Standing Cedars and check out the bird population. These photos are a collage of the scenes on the prairie.

National Park Rager Robin Maercklein led our 8:00 am expedition.

Robin explained where certain birds would be and what sounds they make.

We saw wetlands

Robin pointed out many of the grasses and feed that the birds need to exist.

We saw a bunch of birds just inside the woodlands

We traveled down the path at Standing Cedars and saw several species of birds.
